14 product management tools available for free

April 06, 2020

What can I get for free?

Even at the very beginning of your journey to build a product, using dedicated tools will help you a lot. Since the very beginning, try to apply a process that you can extend and improve later. Your primary duty at that point is planning and the first steps of the execution. Be focused on those activities:

  • document your goals
  • build ideas backlog
  • keep a repository of your experiments
  • organize backlog for execution phases
  • keep product data organized - try not to spread it everywhere around

At the very beginning, it is maybe not the smartest idea to spend a lot of money on paid solutions. On the other hand, it would be a nice start with the right foot. Fortunately, many tools have a free plan for people like you. They are limited, but probably going to work for many small product teams.

Below you will find a list which is based on my popularity ranking. I’ve chosen those with free plans, and I’ll summarize their limitations bellow.

Summary

I hope that list will help you to make the right decision about which tool is right for you. At some point, the free plan will not be enough, and you will need to choose a paid plan. In the next article, I’ll compare paid plans of different product/project management tools. Stay tuned!
